    The New Guy

With a tired yiddish-american  Seinfeld whine, I ask: Why do people at work pick on the new guy?  Why do they test the intestinal fortitutde of the new guy?  Perhaps its their  love of Ultimate Figthing Match pay per view.  Maybe a  delicious blend of Survivor and the Apprentice are at work.   You're Fired.  Ha Hah ha Ha Ha Ha.  Who knows who cares.  There is a shit-eating  superiority complex that comes with being better at a job than the new guy.  Kinda like the way adults feel about kids.  They've been at the place longer and they know everything the job entails.  Their arms even hold the heavens from the earth.  They have 'seniority'.
Next comes the lil jabs at whatever they can find in the form of weaknesses.  They might not tell you how to even do the task at hand, but roast you over the coals for not doing it right.  Don't get frustrated, or you really won't be able to do your work.  You cannot tell them to f$*#k off either, and they know it.
The bright side comes as you get better at your job, jabs from co-workers turn into jokes, and things start to run smoothly as the days and months go by.  Then a new guy shows up for work.  You are now looking at  yourself all that time ago.  A time forgotten?

Blog Me, Blog Me, Said the Blog Virgin

Hello World.  You computer ol schoolers know the significance of those two words.  Here  is my bare-bones blog site, and it is an ode to the Silicon Valley and Aarpnet pioneers of the 1980's.  Stick around and watch the blog devolve into a quagmire of human exudations.
Ya, so this is my first entry and I set it up so I could respond to the awesome blogs out there that I have read of my friends.  These friend's blogs really made me have something to look forward to reading them every few dayz or so (months in one freind's example), and now that I have my own blog/address set up, I can "communicate" with them regarding their blogs. Isn't this all so nice and cute.
Somebody else died from drugs.  Condolenceses to family/friends.  Cocaine is an illicit drug that comes from South America. It is a stimulant.  Right now I am being carried by half a pot of Hills Bros. coffee.  It is a legal drug that comes from South America, a stimulant.  Where am  I going with this? Visit the CIA website (cia.gov) and check out Colombia in their World factbook.  Try Bolivia and Peru too.  Cocaine production is tightly controlled and does not disappear, but continues  to go on unabated.  Yes there has been a massive war on drugs there.  Lots of blood.  Yes, the Americans have been successful in trying to 'stop' Cocaine.  Mysteriously however, or miraculously, the equivalent of about 40-50 metric tonnes of the Devil's Dandruff is produced and shipped around the world to satiate the sweet tooth of of G8 coke snorters with more money than brains.  Pardon the cliche.
If it wasn't for the Coca plant, the poor farmers who grow the crop in South America wouldn't have any money, and lawyers,  dealers, bikers,  and mafioso  would have to get a real job.   I side with the poor people of  South America who say the Coca plant is not to blame.  They see Coca leaf as healthful as Grapes, comparing Cocaine to being its wine.  The native farmers,  called cocaleros, do not drink the wine.  One of them even became president of Bolivia, Evo Morales.  Enjoy Coca Cola!
